Robert (Bob) Kautz
Robert (Bob) Kautz had a successful and diverse 39-year career with AlliedSignal as Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Program Manager. In his engineering career he was instrumental in developing a first-of-a-kind 35-Kilowatt Electric Power System for Gulfstream business jets. In his manufacturing career he held many positions. He was responsible for moving a manufacturing plant from NJ to SC, including site selection, refurbishing, furnishing, equipment purchasing and installation, and staffing and training of new employees. Thereafter, he moved to an Aerospace sector position where he was responsible for the rollout of the Integrated Product Design and Support (IPDS) process to all Aerospace divisions. As Program Manager, Bob was responsible for the design and manufacture of Electric Power Systems, Hydraulic and Electric Actuators, Braking Systems, and Navigation and Flight Control Systems for the autonomously controlled Single Stage To Orbit (SSTO X-33) spacecraft. He holds six patents.
Bob has more than 15 years of external and internal consulting experience. He recently developed a public Black Belt program for Rowan University and has consulted with a variety of companies including Alcan Packaging, Rowan University (The Management Institute), Electric Mobility, Mannington Mills, Comar, and Modern Plastics Technics.
Bob holds a B.S. in Physics from Monmouth University and is a certified AlliedSignal Black Belt, trained by the Six Sigma Academy.
